Labo Traces

A New Format
The dance company unfolds a fluid interplay of individuality and togetherness. Each dancer’s ideas and expressions contribute to a collective language, a choreography that emerges from negotiation, friction, and reunion. Labo Traces traces the company’s path, mapping the growth of the ensemble as it develops its own voice and continually finds new ways to connect, offering the audience an intimate view of this evolving process.

Movement
Movement in Labo Traces arises from the dancers themselves, blending their personal vocabularies into a shared kinetic dialogue. Differences in body, style, and experience become material for improvisation, counterpoints, and collective textures. The choreography emphasizes the dynamics between autonomy and cohesion, creating a living reflection of the ensemble’s diverse voices.
A Site Specific Perspective
Originally premiered in the ballet studio of the Musiktheater Linz, Labo Traces extends beyond traditional stages. Its performance on the rooftop of the OK brings the work into a theater-free geography, emphasizing proximity, presence, and the adaptability of the collective. This setting reinforces the experimental nature of the format and situates the dancers’ exploration within a tangible, real-world environment.
