Evento

Evento invites us into an unexpected space: a quiet corridor in a Sicilian home. What begins as a seemingly insignificant pause becomes a moment of intimacy and reflection, where silence carries its own meaning.

The Piece

At the heart of Evento lies a paradox: the most important event does not unfold in the main room, but in the margins, between a door frame and tiled walls. Away from the festive chaos of family tradition, the performance transforms an overlooked passage into a stage of presence. This corridor becomes a refuge — a place of breath, pause, and reinvention. Here, the everyday reveals its depth, showing how the smallest encounters can shape the way we connect with each other.

Music Concept

The soundscape of Evento, composed by Hodei Iriarte Kaperotxipi, turns inward. Inspired by Jung’s concept of the shadow, it builds a landscape of memory through echoes of the 1980s, layered with whispering voices. These sounds evoke the weight of social norms and collective narratives, transforming music into a mirror of the subconscious.

Context

Dramaturgy in Evento focuses on the unspoken meanings hidden in everyday rituals. By shifting attention from the grand celebrations of Sicilian culture to the overlooked corridor, it reflects on how tradition, family, and human connection live not only in visible gestures but also in the pauses in between. The dramaturgical approach guides the audience to sense the invisible — the quiet drama that unfolds where noise subsides.
